Our programme started with one mass vaccination centre and grew to 3 Mass Vaccination Centres as well as hospital sites, pop-up sites and immbulances (vans that would go to harder to reach areas/difficult to reach communities).

Never have I experienced so much change in such a short period of time within the medical field, and on hearing the phrase, "someone should really write a book on this", almost every day for over a year, I thought I would be well placed to write a book on the topic, something I would have never thought of before. From my experience, there was so much going on at the time, people were always confused as to what the latest guidance was, and importantly why.

In this book, I cover the many complexities this constantly changing landscape brought for the team. I was very grateful for being given the opportunity to be part of such an extraordinary experience.

I go through my personal journey of helping with the setup stage for our first site where we anticipated vaccinating 1,500 people a day at maximum capacity, to actually increasing this to 3,500 people a day, and across all our sites to 10,000 people a day.

From planning on using the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, to using all 3 COVID-19 vaccines.

There are many interesting stories, situations and conditions I came across in this job and by the time I formally left, we had given over a million vaccinations in our centres.
